The Library Association was formed in July of 1997 by a group of concerned citizens who felt the Town of Grover, Colorado and the surrounding area could benefit by having a full service lending library because of the distance involved to existing facilities. The Association is a Colorado Non-Profit Corporation - 501 (c) (3). All donations are tax deductible.
The Grover Regional Library Association (GRLA) has two compelling goals: to establish a regional library and to preserve a building of local historical significance, The Grover Opera House, which will house the library. The Grover Opera House Project, once completed will be accessible to over 400 households, encompassing 900 square miles.
It is our MISSION: to provide equitable access to educational, informational, recreational resources and to restore, preserve and promote the historical significance of a remote area Opera House.
It is our VISION: to be one of the leading regional contributors of continuing education, cultural and recreational activities, community development and historical preservation.
It is our GOAL: to establish a full service lending library and community center in a local historically significant building for the inhabitants of rural northeastern Weld County, Colorado and the generations who follow.
In order to meet our goals, we are seeking funds from several sources, grants, donations and fund raising efforts. To date we have received grants from several foundations which has allowed us to put a new roof on our building. Though we still have far to go, we are much closer to bringing this project to fruition.
